Infirmities make life difficult, but spiritual brokenness makes it unbearable. Have you ever considered that spiritual health is more important than physical health? When a person is healthy it is easy to neglect the spiritual, but the body is sure to deteriorate sooner or later. Entire industries are built on delaying the inevitable, and this is not a bad thing, but it is a losing battle. Therefore it is essential to prepare for what is sure to come, by making spiritual health a top priority. Is there a habit holding you back from spiritual growth? A relationship that needs reconciliation? Now is the best time to make a change, take advantage of the opportunity you have.

The fool exposes himself to all kinds of filth, thinking “I can handle it,” but the wise person asks “what good will this do?” You only have so much attention, why waste it on things that pollute your heart? “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
