13 Eat honey, my son, for it is good;
honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
14 Know also that wisdom is like honey for you:
If you find it, there is a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off.
It is one thing to understand that honey is sweet, and quite another to experience its sweetness. It cannot satisfy without being eaten, it energizes and strengthens those who use it. The same is true for wisdom, which is much more satisfying to taste than observe, all of its benefits are found in its use. But the two differ in that there is more future hope in wisdom, which cannot be consumed, its sweetness may be ceaselessly savored by all who find it.
