If wisdom is necessary for the common man, how much more for those in positions of leadership? Wisdom and foolishness are amplified by authority, while the common fool may persist for a lifetime a foolish ruler is soon overthrown. This goes beyond kings and rulers, as leadership in general is only effective to the extent that it is informed by wisdom. It is not only by wisdom that leaders gain influence, it is through wisdom that they establish just systems and rules. Justice is perhaps the most important attribute of wise leadership, without which order cannot be maintained. If you want influence and respect, the best way to get them is by pursuing wisdom.
