[12 A troublemaker and a villain,
who goes about with a corrupt mouth,
13 who winks maliciously with his eye,
signals with his feet
and motions with his fingers,]
14 who plots evil with deceit in his heart—
he always stirs up conflict.
15 Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant;
he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.
If anyone deserves trouble, it is the troublemaker himself. He spends his time plotting and scheming, he enjoys causing conflict and sowing the seeds of evil. If only his creativity were put towards building up and not tearing down! Though he despises honest and productive work, he puts great thought and effort into his manipulations. It would be better for him to be lazy, but his endless scheming leaves him restless.
Though he deserves destruction, his fate is not a matter of karma but of consequence. His web of deceit becomes too complex to navigate without contradiction, he is exhausted by his own duplicity. Distracted by his desires and self justifications, blinded by his pride, he doesn’t see disaster coming until it is too late. Who will be there to lift him up? He has burned all of his bridges, there is no one to pity him and no one to ask for help.
