5 In the paths of the wicked are snares and pitfalls,
but those who would preserve their life stay far from them.
The path of the wise is simple, but that does not make it easy. Prudence does not procrastinate, temperance stays within its limits, justice does not go with the crowd, fortitude never quits. The wicked have no such virtues, they don’t realize that the easy path is much more complicated. A detour here, a backtrack there, and before they know it they’ve done much more work than If they had simply done the right thing. Don’t exchange present ease for future difficulty, do the work now and you will be free of it.
